USB Connectivity
The J101 carrier board provides separate USB connections for peripherals, device mode and power:
1 × USB 3.0 Type-A for high-speed peripherals.
2 × USB 2.0 Type-A ports.
1 × USB Type-C for device mode and recovery/flashing workflows.
1 × USB Type-C dedicated to 5V/3A power input.
Networking
A built-in RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port supports 10/100/1000 Mbps networking. This is particularly useful for AI cameras, edge servers, robotics, local inference systems and industrial installations where stable wired connectivity is preferred.
M.2 Key E Expansion
The J101 carrier board includes an M.2 Key E 2230 slot for compatible wireless expansion such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules.
Important: the J1010 does not include an M.2 Key M NVMe slot. Storage expansion is instead possible through onboard eMMC, microSD and external USB storage.
Camera Support
The system provides two MIPI CSI-2 camera connectors, allowing compatible Jetson camera modules to be connected directly for machine vision and AI imaging applications.
This makes the J1010 suitable for:
Object detection cameras.
Industrial inspection systems.
People and vehicle counting.
Security and monitoring systems.
Robotics vision.
AI-enabled NVR applications.

40-Pin Expansion Header
The J101 carrier board includes a Raspberry Pi-style 40-pin multifunction header for GPIO and embedded interfacing. This allows the system to connect to sensors, control electronics and expansion hardware.
GPIO behavior depends on the Jetson pin configuration and software environment, so the official NVIDIA and Seeed documentation should be followed when designing external circuits.
Power Efficiency
The reComputer J1010 is powered from a 5V / 3A USB Type-C supply. Seeed states that power consumption may be as low as approximately 5W depending on workload and operating mode.
Power adapter is not included.
Cooling and Enclosure
The device is supplied in a compact aluminum enclosure with a passive heatsink. The J101 carrier board also provides a 5V PWM fan connector if active cooling is required by the application.
The enclosure includes mounting points that allow the system to be installed on a wall or integrated into a larger machine or cabinet.
Software and JetPack
Original reComputer J1010 units were supplied with NVIDIA JetPack 4.6.1. Seeed’s current J101 flashing resources also provide JetPack 4.6.6 images for supported Jetson Nano systems.
